Transcendent bellydance mighty be another name for fusion bellydance music, perhaps more defining what's it all about. Transcending the boundaries of traditional oriental music. Down to the nitty gritty, the emphasis is on ripping zurna melodies, raucous rhythms and smooth guitar work.

A mix of Iraqi tribal rhythms (hewa) and Congolese guitar links form a unique blend of Eastern and African music. It's not the first time in history this blend is created. Centuries ago the Moorish imported slaves from West-Africa to Morroco and the result became a unique Gnawa style. In the 21 st century, a fusion of Iraq - the cradle of civilisation - and Africa gave birth to a new style: "Transcendent bellydance".

bambouphone (40K)

Among the instruments used is the bambouphone, a very rare instrument and a sort of saxophone in bamboo. It's used in the tracks Transcendent bellydance and Between Tigris and Euphrates. It's a sort of transcendent instrument, a fusion between a soprano saxophone but with a warm bamboo sound.
